HI g0at, thank you for question. First of all ALLPlayer uses two types of technologies that enable you to add subs into the AVI file. 1. Its muxing - this is by use of DivX Muxer and works ok, but sometimes due to "fps" can get some error. This is sth we can not help, due to DivX bug. This muxing helps to play xsubs within the file on DVD/DivX Certified Devices. The good thing is, due to the bitmap structure - if you have bigger screen, the subs are getting bigger, while with txt, sub files you have to enlarge them manually. 2. Its using AVI container to add subs automatically, so you don't see them but for sure they are in the AVI. The process is automatic, if you check in the Setup right position. This AVI can be played on any Player, so its not new Container, but we did figure out how to add subs, cover, movie info and 3D Menu + DRM/Password protection.

Abstract: Informed by my embodiment as a Deaf instructor asking hearing students to challenge captioning conventions, this article shows how hearing composers can reimagine the design of their captioned videos, and appreciate students’ embodied responses to new rhetorical situations. The embodied methodology and methods in this article incorporate embodied differences and are directly influenced by the fields of disability studies, cultural rhetorics, and embodiment. This article foregrounds students’ embodied responses—their individual reactions to the videos and activities—in the form of their reflective letters on the process of designing and analyzing videos with dynamic visual text, or captions that move around the screen in interaction with other modes of communication. In addition to discussing their written responses and the skills they developed, I assess their group videos to show how student composers interpret the process of infusing captions with meaning.

I’ve been playing this week with closed captions on YouTube. YouTube announced support for closed captions in August 2008, and followed that announcement with this demonstration video. This inspired us at DO-IT to create our own YouTube Channel and to start uploading captioned videos.
