Corteon Moore Discusses Everything That Has Happened To Ellis Over From's 3 Seasons
"I forgot that the show started with Boyd not even being allowed to enter the colony house."
Screen Rant: What has it been like going through this evolution with Ellis since season 1?
Corteon Moore: It's crazy. I was talking to somebody earlier about this today. I forgot that the show started with Boyd not even being allowed to enter the colony house. Like they were so, so estranged. They could not have had more bad blood, it would have been impossible. So to watch, just on the father-son aspect alone, to watch them go from that to Boyd being the first person that Ellis goes to in a crisis is really insane.
It was a really cool, organic, story thing to work through and figure out how me and Harold's personal relationship was being affected by that. That was really interesting. Then on top of that, this entire beautiful love story that I got to play with Pegah, Fatima, and the baby, and then no baby, and then Smiley, and then all these crazy things. And then on top of that getting stabbed, and the blood, and breaking my arm, and my mom dying, like there's just way too much to fathom.
But it's cool that the two pillars of himself have remained alive. That's interesting. He gets to grow alongside Fatima and Boyd. And yeah, it's just been a whirlwind, and I'm still not entirely sure where Ellis is. I'm watching this even back now, and I'm like, he hasn't had any time to process anything at all. I think he needs a break, first of all, and then needs to reassess and then figure out what he's going to do next. He has no idea.

Corteon Moore Says He Would End Up Like Victor If He Was Stuck In From-Ville
"I would emotionally stunt myself and I would just draw."
Screen Rant: How would you handle being stuck in the town?
Corteon Moore: I would break down, and then I would probably turn into Victor. I would emotionally stunt myself and I would just draw, and then I would probably witness some atrocity and then just never tell anybody about it and just completely hide in my room. I would be like all the bad parts about Victor, none of the useful, helpful, cute or sweet moments, like just the stuff that's like, come on, tell us what you know. I wouldn't be able to do it.
Screen Rant: That is what makes this show so good, though. You never know where things are going to go.

Corteon Moore: No, no, no, no. Even watching it back this year, I forget. I'm like, oh my God, I had no idea. What's the biggest thing that I forgot this year? Oh, it's with Sarah and Elgin. I completely forgot that we did that. I was like, holy... That's how we found out where to go. That was an entire nasty moment that I just completely disregarded in my brain. So I get to watch as an audience member, which is really cool.
Corteon Moore Has Just As Many Questions As From Viewers Do
"Everybody who's out there, who's on Reddit and TikTok, was asking us all these questions. I have just as many questions, right? I have no idea."
Screen Rant: What was your reaction when you found out like the end of the pregnancy arc?

Corteon Moore: I remember there was a point where there was a rumor that it was going to be a monster, but I thought it was going to come out and it was going to be like a half baby half monster thing that Ellis and Fatima were going to raise as their own. And then I saw Jamie on set, and he was getting a life casting, and I was like, you're supposed to be dead. So if I'm connecting the dots, then what is about to come out of Fatima is not going to be something that I can take care of.
Then the script finally came out, and I remember just being like, well, what the? And then the fact that he grows like immediately, that's where it got really messed up for me. I thought if he came out fully, that would have been less disgusting than this egg of a thing. And then it breaking and growing into a born again Smiley. It's just the craziest thing they could have ever imagined, man.
It was nuts. Too much. Literally the most famous monster that's ever lived in Fromville is now covered in blood and slime. And what's the deal with the kimono woman? Everybody who's out there, who's on Reddit and TikTok, were asking us all these questions. I have just as many questions, right? I have no idea. I'm watching the show, and I'm like, what's the kimono woman's deal? Why is she doing this to my wife? Why is Elgin all of a sudden...? It's too much for me. I just want to get out of the town, to have a real baby, and to get a job at a coffee shop or something. That would be great.

Corteon Moore Says There Is A Lot To Fear About The Monsters In From
"Even that movie Smile, I don't think they have anything on what we got going on here."
Screen Rant: What do you think it is about the monsters that makes them so terrifying?
Corteon Moore: Oh man. I mean, aside from the smiling nonstop, that really just gets on my nerves, like watching it. It's nuts. Even that movie Smile, I don't think they have anything on what we got going on here. It's just standing in the middle of the woods and just doing that thing. I think in the bigger picture, it's more so the idea that we actually don't know why they're doing this.
And we're slowly learning that there are these grander things at play. The man in the pale-yellow suit now. And even these voices on the phone and what dragged Boyd and Sarah across the forest. I think the scary thing is like, okay, we know we got to deal with these things that will try to kill us. We don't know why. We don't know if they're doing it because they want to, or somebody else wants them to, there's just too much that we don't know about them. The things that we do know about them are like, whatever, but it's what else is existing out there if this is the baseline? I think that's really terrifying.

Corteon Moore Was Confident About From Season 4 Before It Was Announced
"At the end of the night, normally, is when the party gets good."
Screen Rant: Hopefully season 4 happens! People came late to the party, but thankfully they are here now. [Ed. Note: This interview was conducted before the renewal announcement.]
Corteon Moore: Oh, I think so. I think so. This season is doing so well. I don't think anybody anticipated the amount of people that are tuning in. It's kind of, it's crazy. But at the end of the night, normally, is when the party gets good. So they're on time.
